Today marks one year that we became official sisters of our beloved sorority. The past 365 days have been a whirlwind of changes, emotions, and discoveries. And while the journey was hard, it was definitely worth it 100 times over.
When people ask why I'm in a sorority, its hard to describe to them all the things that sisterhood is that they just can't see. Being in a sorority is more than just letters on a sweatshirt. It is a high five when you pass that impossible midterm. It is a hug and a cup of tea when all you need is someone to sit next to you. Its having someone to call at 8am on a Saturday to save you from a long walk home. It is knowing that although we may not have it all together, together we have it all.
So no, we aren't buying friends. We are investing. Investing in the memories and experiences that create unbreakable, irreplaceable bonds.
Being greek won't solve all your problems, but it will bring you to the people that will help you come one step closer.
